The Details of Renew your Pipefitter, Refrigeration Technician, or Sprinkler Fitter License
What you need for Renew your Pipefitter, Refrigeration Technician, or Sprinkler Fitter License
Sprinkler Fitter Contractors applying for license renewal must:
- Submit a certificate of liability insurance that includes "completed operations" coverage in the amount of $500,000 minimum per occurrence that lists the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Occupational Licensure as the certificate holder.
- Be an owner, partner, officer, or in a full-time management position of a sprinkler fitter company.
All other Bureau licenses do not require further documentation for renewal.
Important Notes:
Renewal notices are sent by email and by mail to the addresses on record 60-days prior to license expiration. The emails and mailed renewal notices contain your registration code, which can be used to apply online. The mailed renewal notice includes a hard-copy renewal application, which can be completed and returned to the board.
Note that if you must update your license photo during renewal, submitted photos MUST meet US Passport 2" x 2" photo specifications.
Licensed apprentices will be limited to two (2) renewals of their license unless otherwise approved by the Bureau of Pipefitters, Refrigeration Technicians and Sprinkler Fitters.
