Know the law:
The Smoke-Free Workplace law (MGL chapter 270, section 22, "An Act to Improve the Public Health in the Commonwealth" went into effect on July 5, 2004 to protect employees and the public from secondhand smoke. This law amends the 1988 Massachusetts Clean Indoor Air Law and prohibits smoking in schools, restaurants and bars, taxis, private offices, and other places of work.
If you observe a violation of this law, a complaint can be filed by contacting your local board of health/health department or the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
