If your Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification expires or is reissued, you must inform the Board of Registration in Nursing.

What you need   for Request to remove or reinstate APRN authorization

All APRNs must maintain current certification through a Board approved national certifying organization in order to maintain current Board authorization to practice. The Board does not issue certifications.

If your certification lapses for any reason, you are no longer authorized to practice as an APRN.

Expired certification

Complete a Request to remove APRN authorization if your certification lapses for any reason.

Reissued certification

Complete a Request to reinstate APRN authorization if your certification is re-issued.

It is your responsibility to manage certification renewal requirements in a timely manner. If you allow your certification to expire, you must cease practice as an APRN until you provide current certification information to the Board.
