What you need

If you receive a bus fare evasion ticket for a bus that isn’t owned by the MBTA, you'll need to pay a fine of $5–20. This violation is treated as a civil infraction, and you're not entitled to a court-appointed lawyer.

How to pay

You'll need to pay the fine in person at the District Court or Boston Municipal Court (BMC) you received the ticket from.
