Use this form to request changes to your existing Water Management Act Permit, except for an increase in permit volume. To request an increase in permit volume, use form WM 03.

What you need   for WM02: Water Management Permit Amendments

This form covers:

  1. Decreasing authorized permit volumes,
  2. Changing the location of one or more withdrawal points,
  3. Adding one or more withdrawal points,
  4. Change the authorized withdrawal rate for an individual withdrawal point,
  5. Changing the location of discharge point(s),
  6. Changing the use of the water, and
  7. Changing any permit conditions.

Note: Requests for an increase in the total permit volume require a new permit and the filing of a BRP WM03 WMA Permit Application.

  3. Claim your Authorization

    1. Since you have an existing WM permit, you will first need to do one important step: Claim Your Authorization. This process will allow us to link your application amendment to your existing permit and confirm your identity.
      Please note: You will not be required to upload anything in the Documents section.
    2. Claim Online via the EEA ePlace Portal.
      Note: If you are a first-time user, will will need to begin by creating an account.

    See the ePlace account setup instructions and Comprehensive User Manual below. Once MassDEP has approved your claim, proceed to step 4.

  4. Submit your Application and Fee Payment

    1. File online via the EEA ePlace Portal.
    2. For additional guidance on navigating the EEA ePLACE Portal, please follow this link - EEA ePLACE Portal Instruction Documents
    3. You will have the option to Pay Online by credit card or automated clearing house (ACH) or pay by mail. If you select pay by mail option, instructions on how to do so will be provided when you submit your online application.
