What you need

This approval ensures that the aggregation of nitrogen loading for septic systems meets the provisions of Title 5. 

Any municipality proposing to implement a community nitrogen aggregation plan for a community must obtain MassDEP approval. This includes proposals in Zone IIs or Interim Wellhead Protection Areas, or in environmentally-sensitive areas such as systems serving new residential construction where the use of both septic systems and private wells is proposed.

  3. Submit your Application and Fee Payment

    1. File online via the EEA ePlace Portal.

    3. You will have the option to pay online by credit card or automated clearing house (ACH) or pay by mail. If you select the pay-by-mail option, instructions on how to do so will be provided when you submit your online application.
