The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is replacing the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Bridge in Chicopee.
The Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Bridge carries I-391 over Route 116 (Chicopee Street) in the Willimansett neighborhood. The left lanes of both directions of I-391 are currently closed to traffic due to the bridge’s deteriorated condition. Built in 1979, the bridge has reached the end of its useful life span and must be replaced.
MassDOT welcomes community input on the design of the new bridge.
