The District Attorney's Office is responsible for all criminal prosecutions in Berkshire County.

The Berkshire District Attorney has offices in Pittsfield and North Adams. The District Attorney's Office is responsible for all criminal prosecutions in Berkshire County, covering everything from misdemeanors to major felonies such as rape and murder. The Office handles more than 7,000 criminal cases each year in the County's three District Courts, Juvenile Court, and Superior Court. The staff is also responsible for all appeals to the State Appeals Court and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Twenty experienced and able Assistant District Attorneys are commitment to honoring our sacred public trust: to seek justice – by holding the guilty accountable while protecting the innocent and ensuring dignity for victims and their families. Justice is served only when we act with integrity and professionalism, and in a manner that is both fair and even-handed.
