Details

Housing developer Churchill James has been designated as the developer for the ±1.59-acre lot and has proposed 28 units of new housing on the site. Of the new units, 10% will be made affordable to households earning no more than 80% Area Median Income. Churchill James will perform due diligence ahead of a 2027 closing.

The parcel is located in downtown Bridgewater at 106 Hale Street, within walking distance of the Bridgewater commuter rail station and the Bridgewater State University campus. 

Size: ±1.59 acres

Permitting: 15 units/acre allowed by right. Higher density may be allowed through underlying zoning.

On September 12, 2025, the Commonwealth released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to redevelop a ±1.59-acre parcel at 106 Hale Street, Bridgewater for new housing under the Affordable Homes Act.
