About the Allston Preservation Project

The following is an overview of the viaduct preservation work:

• Substructure concrete repairs to piers, columns, and abutments
• Replacement or rehabilitation of bridge deck joints
• Structural steel repairs
• Cleaning and painting of select areas of structural steel
• Concrete barrier repairs
• Replacement or repairs to lighting as required
• Repairs to the bridge deck
• Drainage cleaning and upgrades

This contract also includes work on the Cambridge Street overpass, over I-90 and the CSX and Commuter Rail Lines in the Allston neighborhood.

Work associated with Cambridge Street includes:
