About the Massachusetts Probation Service Victim Services Unit

The Victim Services Unit (VSU) is committed to providing compassionate and supportive services to victims and survivors of a crime that a probationary period was imposed for.

The VSU is made up of Victim Service Coordinators (VSCs) who are assigned regionally to courts across the state. The VSCs can:

  • Explain the probation process
  • Let you know about probation-related events
  • Accompany you to court
  • Help with restitution
  • Help with safety planning and crisis intervention
  • Refer you to local resources
  • Help with certifications for release notifications and access to CORI documents

Victim Services Coordinators are available regionally to provide support and information to victims and survivors of crime who are associated with a case that is supervised by the MA Probation Service. You can receive services by phone, email, or letter.

If you would like updates about the case you are the named victim on or have questions, please contact the Victim Services Unit.
