Meet the Team

Michael Aldred, Director

Michael Aldred is a United States Navy Veteran and South Boston native. After graduating from B.C. High, he attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy for one year before enlisting. 

Since leaving the service, he has received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He has held positions with the City of Boston and the Commonwealth, having worked for the Boston Public Health Commission's Homeless Services Bureau and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Bureau of Infectious Disease. Before joining the Executive Office of Veterans Services, he served as the Chief-of-Staff to State Senator Nick Collins in the First Suffolk District.

He is a member of the American Legion's Martin F. McDonough Post in South Boston and the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council. In his spare time, he is a volunteer assistant coach with the South Boston Boys and Girls Club Swim Team.

Tom LaRose, Coordinator

Tom LaRose graduated from Clark University in 2017 with a B.A. in History. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and was commissioned through Officer's Candidate School in Fort Moore, GA. While in the Army (2017-21), Tom served as a tank platoon leader and company executive officer for 1-5 CAV based out of Fort Cavazos, TX and completed a rotation overseas to Romania. After the army, Tom attended Northeastern University, graduating in 2023 with an M.A. in History. Before joining EOVS, he worked as the Development Coordinator at the USS Constitution Museum, overseeing military functions and logistics.
