ADMISSION | ESCAPE RETURN | ESCAPE RETURN | An escape is the act by which an offender, lawfully sentenced or admitted to the custody of the DOC or a Sheriff's Office, engages in an unauthorized departure from the confines of a correctional institution, the custody of escorting officers, or who fails to return from an authorized release to the community at the designated time. An escape return is an admission following the escape. Note: Escape Return is not an Admission Type used by all agencies, so returned inmates may not be noted as such. Additionally, the jurisdiction of where the escape occurred, where the apprehension occurred and where the individual is housed after apprehension may not be the same jurisdiction. |
ADMISSION | PAROLE DETAINER | PAROLE VIOLATION (including 15-day Parole Detainers) | An offender under parole supervision may be returned to the DOC or a Sheriff's Office for a parole violation with a new offense or technical parole violation. Parolees may be returned for a period of up to 15 days awaiting the final determination of the Parole Board regarding final revocation of parole. For reporting purposes, offenders who have been returned to DOC custody pursuant to a parole detainer are included in this group. Note: DOC reports parole violation and parole detainer under ‘Parole Violation’ |

Admissions as parole violators follow the final determination of the Parole Board to revoke the parole release. For reporting purposes, offenders who have been returned to DOC custody pursuant to a final parole revocation are included in this group. Note: DOC reports parole violation and parole detainer under ‘Parole Violation’ |

This admission type would also include individuals held for Criminal Probate Contempt. Note: For DOC this description includes the admission types “Pre-trial held with bail” and “Pre-trial held without bail”. |

In this category, the court ordered a specific bail amount that if paid, the offender can be released and agrees to appear at a specified time and place. Note: For DOC this type is reported under "Held Pre-Trial" |
ADMISSION | PRETRIAL HELD WITHOUT BAIL | HELD PENDING DISPOSITION WITHOUT BAIL | Individuals housed in DOC or a Sheriff's Office custody who are detained prior to and during a trial, conviction, and sentencing and not yet convicted of a crime. In this category the court has not set a bail amount, or the issue related to the detention of the individual is not subject to release by bail. Note: For DOC this type is reported under "Held Pre-Trial". |
ADMISSION | PROBATION VIOLATION | PROBATION VIOLATOR | An offender admitted to DOC or a Sheriff's Office to serve a previously imposed sentence of probation (suspended sentence, probation, or split sentence) following a revocation of the terms of probation. May also include admissions on a probation violation warrant while the revocation process is pending |

ADMISSION | HELD PENDING ARRAIGNMENT BAIL | HELD PENDING ARRAIGNMENT BAIL | This code is used after releasing someone from either pre-trial status or completion of sentence, when a warrant or WMS warrant is confirmed. This could also account for arrestees dropped off as part of a regional lockup agreement. |
