Bradford Fellowship Degree Requirements and Program Expectations

Bradford Fellows are expected to maintain degree and program expectations.

Degree Requirements

Harvard Kennedy School requires to graduate students must: 

  • Earn at least 32 credits.
  • Finish with a GPA of B or better.
  • Matriculate as a full-time, in-residence student and take 12-20 credits per semester.
  • Satisfy the distribution requirements by completing at least one 4-credit course (or two 2-credit modules) with a grade of B- or better in each of the following three areas from a pre-approved list:
    • Economics and Quantitative Analysis.
    • Management, Leadership, and Decision Sciences.
    • Public Ethics and Political Institutions.

Program Expectations

  • Fellow must remain in good standing with the Harvard Kennedy School throughout their enrollment.
  • Fellow is responsible for the cost of books, additional educational opportunities, and any fees required by the Harvard Kennedy School. 
  • Fellow will provide weekly confirmation of time and attendance to agency payroll coordinator.
  • Fellow will check in with their supervisor of record at least quarterly to maintain situational awareness on agency operations and prepare to apply the learning obtained during the program.
  • Fellow must provide proof of graduation within 30 days of successful completion of program to the HRD Bradford Fellowship Program Coordinator.
  • In the event that the fellow withdraws or suspends participation in the program, they will return to full-time work status. If they would like to continue their studies in the future, they must reapply to the Fellowship process.
  • If requested, within the 90 days of returning to work, the fellow will host a briefing for their agency or secretariat leadership to share best practices of what they learned and how they will apply it to their respective roles.
