RESEA requirements
If you are selected for RESEA, you must complete program requirements to keep collecting unemployment benefits.
To get started, sign up for a MassHire JobQuest Account and find a MassHire Career Center near you.
First, complete a Career Center Seminar (CCS)
You must complete the CCS before the deadline date in your RESEA letter. There are 3 ways to complete it.
Option 1: Attend a virtual seminar
Some Career Centers offer seminars online, hosted by Career Center staff who will explain the RESEA process and help get you set up with a RESEA specialist.
Find a virtual seminar that works for your schedule online or over the phone:
- Find a CCS Online: Log in to your MassHire JobQuest account and select "Career Center Seminar"
- Find a CCS over the phone: Call (888) 822-3422
Option 2: Attend an in-person seminar
Some Career Centers offer seminars in-person, hosted by Career Center staff who will explain the RESEA process and help get you set up with a RESEA specialist.
Find an in-person seminar that works for your schedule online or over the phone:
- Find a CCS Online: Log in to your MassHire JobQuest account and select "Career Center Seminar"
- Find a CCS over the phone: Call (888) 822-3422
Option 3: Watch the on-demand video
You can also complete this requirement by watching the on-demand Career Center Seminar video from your MassHire JobQuest account.
- Log in to your MassHire JobQuest account
- Under My Dashboard, select View on-demand videos
- Select Welcome to the MassHire Career Center Seminar (CCS)
- Watch the entire video until you see the Congratulations message
After you watch the video, you're ready for your first one-on-one meeting with a RESEA specialist. A representative will call you to schedule the meeting, or you can call your local MassHire Career Center.
Then, complete two meetings with a RESEA specialist
After you complete the CCS, you must attend two one-on-one meetings with Career Center staff. These meetings can be online or in-person, and your RESEA requirements will be reviewed and explained in detail.
- Initial RESEA meeting: Review program requirements and schedule a follow-up meeting
- RESEA review meeting: Review completed RESEA requirements, talk about your future employment needs, and any available services you might need during your period of unemployment
How to schedule your RESEA meetings
- Initial RESEA meeting: Career Center staff will help schedule your first meeting after you attend a Career Center Seminar. You can also call your local Career Center.
- RESEA review meeting: You will schedule your second meeting during your Initial RESEA meeting.
Before your meetings, you'll receive additional information by phone or email about how to prepare for your two RESEA review meetings from your local Career Center.
Important notes
- In-person: Please bring photo identification to your meeting.
- Online: Please have your photo identification ready. You must have a working camera for online appointments. If your camera is not working, you will need to reschedule.
