Cate Kenna – Environmental Analyst – Hazardous Materials Review Unit and Salt Remediation Program

Cate earned her bachelor’s degree in Geoscience from Hobart & William Smith Colleges in 2003. She began her career as a research assistant at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, followed by 3 years with an Environmental Consulting firm. Cate joined MassDOT’s Environmental Section in December 2008, where she reviews project designs for hazardous material concerns such as contaminated soil and groundwater, lead paint, and asbestos. In addition, Cate is the program coordinator for the Salt Remediation Program, which addresses salt impacts to drinking water supplies caused by MassDOT’s winter deicing operations.

In her spare time, Cate is a dedicated cheerleader for her two daughters and enjoys cooking, family adventures and spending time in the mountains or by the ocean.
