Commonwealth Project Safe Neighborhood Initiative

This program provides funds to District Attorneys and Massachusetts State Police to promote community safety through enforcement, engagement and prevention.

Overview

Funding is available to Massachusetts District Attorney's Offices and Massachusetts State Police to address community-based criminal activity related to gang violence, illegal firearms and narcotics use and distribution. The program emphasizes community engagement by requiring DA's Offices that receive awards to dedicate funds to both enforcement and community outreach initiatives and requiring Massachusetts State Police to submit at least one application for prevention, intervention and/or diversion program funding.

This program is made available through state funding.

Eligibility

Only a Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police are eligible to apply.
