Corporal Britto, a former aircraft launch and recovery specialist, is the first woman Veterans Services Officer for the City of Fall River.

Micaila Britto joined the Marines at 17 and worked as an aircraft launch and recovery specialist at Marine Air Station Futenma in Okinawa, Japan. Despite facing challenges, Micaila remained steadfast and formed close bonds with her comrades.
After facing a medical discharge, Micaila returned home to Taunton in 2002 to be with her father. In 2017, she became a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) in Raynham, Massachusetts, where she assisted veterans, particularly women veterans. Micaila's work involved helping veterans navigate the complex system of state and local service providers and nonprofits.
Micaila was also involved with the Massachusetts Veterans' Service Officers Association, where she served on the board and held the role of president for the South Coast region. She eventually became Fall River’s first female Veteran Service Officer, and subsequently served the town of Somerset until April, 2023. She is passionate about connecting women veterans, advocating for their needs, and working together to provide resources and assistance.
Rabbit, Micaila's loyal service dog, assists with mobility and stability challenges, navigating the world together, offering unwavering support to ensure Micaila's safety and well-being.
