The purpose of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) Revit Template is to ensure consistency in the format and structure of project file submissions received from designers, engineers, contractors and others working on DCAMM projects.
Within the file itself a custom Project Browser organization has been created to aid DCAMM project managers in file review. The organization is setup to group views by design packages and then by view type. Sheets are also organized by design package and then by series.
View and sheet naming conventions are important to ensure consistency as well. The proposed naming conventions are included in the “Home Sheet”, which is a view that should always be used while saving.
Naming Conventions
- View Naming
- LEVEL or DESCRIPTION.PACKAGE NUMBER
- EX.) L01.01

- DISCIPLINE.LEVEL or SERIES.PACKAGE NUMBERS
- EX.) A.100.01

Worksets are used to organize the Revit file and allow greater grouping and control over the components within the model. DCAMM will require the design community to have a number of worksets, which is described below.
Worksets
- Each major system will have its own workset
- Core and Shell
- Fitout
- Structure
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Fire Protection
- Etc.
- Each Linked Model will have its own workset
- Architectural Link
- Structural Link
- MEP Link
- Etc.
