This Tip Sheet addresses license requirements for DCAMM Contractor Certification.
Licenses
There are eight (8) Categories of Work that require licenses in order to qualify for DCAMM Contractor Certification:
- Alarm Systems (S-License)
- Asbestos Removal
- Deleading
- Electrical
- Electronic Security Systems (S-License)
- Elevators
- Fire Protection Sprinkler System
- Plumbing
Three of these eight (8) Categories require two types of licenses for corporations seeking certification. Electrical, Plumbing and Elevators require a business license (Electrical Corp, Plumbing Corp, Elevator Corp) as well as an individual license for someone on staff doing the work in the field. For sole proprietors, a business license is not required. Sole proprietors seeking certification in either Electrical or Plumbing must possess a current Master Electrician license or a current Master Plumber license. Sole proprietors seeking certification in the Category of Elevators must have a current Elevator Mechanic license.
