Why won't I be able to use my EBT card from 11 p.m. on April 26 until mid-day April 27?
DTA has to work with a company to issue EBT cards to DTA clients, pay out benefits, and manage the EBT system. DTA is changing companies from one called Conduent to a different company named Fidelity Information Services (FIS).
DTA will transition its EBT system to FIS in late April 2025.
Because of the transition, clients will not be able to use their EBT cards to access their benefits between 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, and mid-day on Sunday, April 27.
If you get SNAP, this means you will not be able to buy food with your SNAP from 11 p.m. on April 26 until mid-day April 27.
If you get TAFDC or EAEDC benefits on your EBT card, you will not be able to use the cash benefits from 11 p.m. on April 26 until mid-day April 27.
What can I do to prepare?
Plan ahead! Buy your groceries and make any necessary purchases with your EBT card before 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. If you don't, you will need to wait until the EBT system is back online around mid-day on Sunday, April 27. We will post an alert on this webpage when the system is back online.
Will my EBT card still work after the temporary outage?
Yes, your EBT card will still work after the transition. It does not need to be replaced, and you do not need to do anything.
Clients will also still be able to use DTA Connect to view or update their case. The phone number on the back of your EBT card (used to call for information and for questions about EBT cards) will remain the same.
How will this change impact my benefits?
Your benefits will not be impacted, but there will be a brief period of time when you will not be able to access (spend) them.
If you get SNAP, this means you will not be able to buy food with your SNAP benefits from 11 p.m. on April 26 until mid-day April 27.
If you get TAFDC or EAEDC benefits on your EBT card, you will not be able to use your cash benefits from 11 p.m. on April 26 until mid-day April 27.
Where can I see updates about the EBT outage?
DTA will notify clients with a mailed notice, text message, and email with details of the outage. DTA will also update when the EBT system goes offline and when clients can use their EBT cards again -- here on our website and on our social media pages (including X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram).
