Evidence may be displayed on monitors mounted inside the jury box, at the witness stand, on two large (85-inch) displays mounted on the courtroom walls (one opposite the jury box, and the other in the front of the courtroom where it can be seen by the audience), on the judge’s bench, at a new attorney presentation podium, and on each of the four counsel tables.
Still images, as well as video or audio recordings, may be displayed on these monitors and heard through the courtroom speaker system.
Exhibits may be displayed from any laptop, tablet, or other electronic device using your own software.
HDMI cables that will transmit still images, video, and audio to the courtroom systems are available at all four counsel tables and at the new presentation podium.
Bring your own HDMI extension cable, or plug one device into our HDMI cable and connect it wirelessly to a second device that you will use to run your display, if you wish to have a colleague control the display of exhibits from some other location in the courtroom.
Bring your own dongle/adaptor to connect any of the HDMI cables to a USB port or other non-HDMI port.
Each courtroom also has an overhead document projector (at the presentation podium) to permit display of paper exhibits.
Both BLS sessions are also equipped with cameras and better microphones that will improve our ability to broadcast proceedings over Zoom and have the capacity (when appropriate and approved by the judge) to permit remote participants to be seen and heard in the courtroom.
Access an Attorney Presentation Quick Reference Guide for the BLS courtrooms online. Attorneys and support personnel preparing for trial in one of the BLS sessions are welcome to contact a BLS Assistant Clerk to schedule a time to come in to work with the new equipment prior to trial to ensure seamless use of this new technology.
