Emergency Housing Assistance Programs - Special Commission
The Special Commission on Emergency Housing Assistance Programs (scroll to the bottom of the page), pursuant to section 23 of chapter 88 of the acts of 2024, will “study and make recommendations on: (i) the sustainability, efficiency, and effectiveness of the emergency housing assistance program; (ii) how to best support and ensure the long-term sufficiency of those seeking shelter; and (iii) creating a regional based response to support families in need of shelter.”
Extremely Low-Income Housing Commission
The Affordable Homes Act created this commission to recommend policy, programs, and other investments to expand the supply of housing that is affordable to households earning not more than 30% AMI.

Housing Advisory Council

March 11, 2024 - First meeting of the Housing Advisory Council. The Council is tasked with developing a five-year strategic statewide housing plan.
Established through Executive Order filed in conjunction with the Affordable Homes Act, the Housing Advisory Council will develop a comprehensive housing plan for Massachusetts. The plan will include strategies for substantially increasing housing production, preserving and upgrading existing housing stock, supporting individuals and families struggling with homelessness, and using housing to create economic mobility for all.
2024 Statewide Housing Plan Listening Sessions
The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities along with members of the Housing Advisory Council held multiple listening sessions around the Commonwealth in 2024 to hear more from our local communities and to provide input for the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s first five-year strategic statewide housing plan.

Housing Appeals Committee
The mission of the Housing Appeals Committee (HAC) is to provide, within the parameters of the comprehensive permit process established by G.L. c. 40B, §§ 20-23, an impartial forum to resolve conflicts arising from the siting of new affordable housing.
Indian Affairs Commission
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Commission on Indian Affairs (MCIA) was created by the legislature in 1974. The Commission is governed by M.G.L. Chapter 6A: Section 8A.
Manufactured Homes Commission
The mission of the Manufactured Homes Commission is to provide prompt, impartial service to all parties affected by or concerned with matters pertaining to manufactured housing communities, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Senior Housing Commission
The Affordable Homes Act created this commission to recommend policy, programs, and other investments to expand the supply of housing for seniors and older adults.

Seasonal Communities Advisory Council
The Seasonal Communities Advisory Council (scroll to the bottom of the page) is tasked with providing advice and recommendations to EOHLC regarding policies or programs necessary to serve the distinct needs of seasonal communities and will include representatives from communities on the Cape, Islands and the Berkshires.
Unlocking Housing Production Commission

January 29, 2024 - Governor Healey swears in the Commission on Unlocking Housing Production.
Established through Executive Order filed in conjunction with the Affordable Homes Act, the Commission on Unlocking Housing Production is charged with advising the administration on how state and local laws, regulations, and practices could be revised in order to increase the supply of affordable housing across income levels and the state.
