Project Features

The project is a two-phase project consisting of:

Phase I:  Building systems and other upgrades to the Vocational Building (Voc) to permit occupancy under the Building Code for detainee housing (Phase I).  The study was certified in May 2022, and is moving into design and construction

Phase II:  After conducting several alternatives and design options, the study was certified for a new 21,400 SF Medical and Mental Health Building comprising 41 beds.  The new building will be located in the center of the campus at the location of the four existing basketball courts. 

Phase I consists of the following:

  • Upgrades to detainee recreational yards for the Voc housing units
  • Full accessibility upgrades
  • New electrical-powered HVAC system, for greenhouse gas reduction
  • Security system upgrades

Notable sustainable design features:

  • Anticipated LEED Silver designation
