Fifth Member Position: Medford Retirement Board

Notice of an open fifth member position.

The Medford Retirement Board is seeking applicants for the position of Fifth Member for a three-year term. The Fifth Member, together with the other four members of the Board, acts as a fiduciary of the Medford Retirement System and is involved in the administration of the 1,500 member system.  The Board meets one day a month, generally during the last week of the month and occasionally additional meetings are required. Monthly meetings last from 3-4 hours and are held at Medford City Hall. The Fifth Member is also required to complete 18 hours of educational sessions, complete bi-annual conflict of interest and ethics training during his or her three-year term and file an annual statement of financial interest with PERAC. In addition, the Fifth Member must learn and become proficient in state retirement law and local board policies and procedures. Travel to local meetings and training is also necessary.

Applicants for the Fifth Member position shall not be an employee, a retiree, or official of the City of Medford or one of its governmental units. The annual stipend is $4,500.
