Appointed 5th Member of the North Attleboro Contributory Retirement Board
The North Attleboro Contributory Retirement Board is seeking applicants for the position of its Fifth Member for a three-year term from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029.
The Fifth Member, together with the other four members of the Board, acts as a fiduciary of the North Attleboro Retirement System and participates in the administration of the 1,200-member System. The Board meets one day per month, generally the 4th Thursday of each month at 9:00am. Meetings are held in the North Attleboro Retirement Office and generally last 2-3 hours. Occasionally, additional meetings are required. The Fifth Member is also required to complete 18 hours of educational sessions, outside of the Town of North Attleboro, during his/her three-year term and to file an annual statement of financial interest with the state. In addition, the Fifth Member must learn and become proficient in state retirement law, plus local board policies and procedures. Some travel to local meetings and training is also necessary. Applicants for the Fifth Member position shall not be an employee, a retiree, or official of the Town of North Attleboro or one of its governmental units. An annual stipend of $3,000 is available to the successful candidate.
