Fifth Member Position: Wakefield Retirement Board

Notice of an open fifth member position.

The Wakefield Retirement Board is seeking applicants for the position of the Fifth Member of the Retirement Board.  The Fifth Member, along with the other four members of the Board acts as a fiduciary of the Wakefield Retirement System.  In order to qualify, interested parties shall not be an employee, a retiree, or an official of the town of Wakefield.  This is a three-year, non-compensated term.

The Fifth Member will be required to attend Board meetings typically held on the third Thursday of every month at 9:00 a.m. and at other times as needed.  The Fifth Member will also be required to complete 18 hours of educational credits during their term and to file an Annual Statement of Financial Interest with PERAC.

Those interested should email a letter of interest and resume to Cathy Cheek at Cathy.Cheek@wakefieldma.gov or submit them by mail to the Wakefield Retirement Board, One Lafayette Street, Wakefield, MA 01880, by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026.
