Retired U.S. Army First Sergeant Christine Tron served 32 years in the Military Intelligence Corps. With a personal motto of “Veterans helping Veterans,” today she serves as the VFW State Judge Advocate and regularly volunteers for the VA.

Retired U.S. Army First Sergeant Christine Tron served for a total of 32 years in the Military Intelligence Corps in the Active Army, Army Reserves, and Army, Guard, Reserves. Among her duty assignments were as a small group instructor at the NCO Academy at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin teaching the First Sergeant and Battle Staff NCO Courses and Senior Instructor at the Intelligence School and Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona teaching the Interrogation Course. But her most fulfilling assignment was the Company First Sergeant of an Intelligence Unit in Charlotte, North Carolina during this country’s 9/11 crisis. “There is no greater leadership challenge than leading Soldiers who have never been mobilized for war” she has commented. She herself was deployed to the Saudi Arabian Theater of War during Operation Desert Storm and worked in an Enemy Prisoner of War Interrogation Facility.

Retired First Sergeant Tron held Military Intelligence Occupational Specialties that required the proficiency in the Polish and Czech languages.

Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Medal, Southwest Asia Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medals (Kuwait and Saudi Arabia), among others.

Although retired and with a service-connected disability, Christine devotes her time to organizations that support our veterans. She currently is very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars serving in various state appointed positions and is the VFW State Judge Advocate. She can often be found volunteering at activities with the VA on a regular basis.

“Veterans helping Veterans” is her personal motto.
