General Information for Labor Service

Following is a brief description of the Labor Service under Civil Service.

Applicants are assigned a Labor Service number based on the date of their first Labor Service application.

Applicants names are placed on the eligible list for the positions they apply for and are ranked in order of their Labor Service number.

Applicants with an active Labor Service number who apply for additional Labor Service positions will have those positions associated to their active Labor Service number.

Applicants with Veteran status will be ranked above non-Veterans.

Labor Service numbers are active for five years.

Upon expiration, a Labor Service number may be renewed for an additional five years at the request of the applicant.

If a Labor Service number is renewed for an additional five years, it will expire after ten years.

Applicants will be notified by email when their name is reached for certification.
