HIV medical case management
HIV case management includes a range of client-centered services. They are designed to improve health outcomes related to HIV.
These services can help you:
- Connect to HIV medical care
- Stay in care, and
- Keep the amount of HIV in your body low or undetectable
HIV medical case managers can also:
- Help you access health insurance and other benefits
- Provide support so you know how to take the right medicine for you at the right times
- Connect you to additional services
These additional services include substance use services, food programs, housing assistance, and more.
Active Retention in Care for Health (ARCH) is a type of HIV medical case management for people with HIV who need more help getting into or staying in HIV care.
Housing search and advocacy
These services can help you find and keep stable housing. This can support your health, make it easier to get HIV medical care, and improve your quality of life.
Housing programs can help you:
- Find housing options that meet your needs
- Complete housing applications
- Address challenges that may make it harder to find or keep housing
Homelessness prevention (rental and utility assistance)
These short-term services can help you pay for rent, electricity, and heating costs. Please see the Rental Assistance Program (RAP) information on the Victory Programs website to connect with their services or learn more.
Massachusetts Community AIDS Resource Enhancement (MassCARE) Program
MassCARE offers outpatient, family-centered care, and services such as HIV case management. Services are tailored to women, infants, children, and youth who are living with HIV and their affected family members.
Ryan White Dental Program (RWDP)
This dental program for people living with HIV can help you cover the cost of oral health services. To submit an application or enrollment/recertification form, visit the Boston Public Health Commission website.
Legal services
These services can help you access resources to successfully manage HIV. Legal services include, but are not limited to:
- Eviction prevention
- Benefits/entitlements advocacy
- Preparation of powers of attorney and wills

You can apply for weekly deliveries of clinician-prescribed, prepared, medically tailored meals. Please visit the Community Servings website to apply for meals or learn more.
HIV Drug Assistance Program (HDAP)
HDAP can help you:
- Access HIV and related medications
- Enroll in health insurance, and
- Pay health insurance premiums to maintain your health insurance
