Housing Advisory Council

Lt. Gov Driscoll, Secretary Augustus and members of the Housing Advisory Council

March 11, 2024 - First meeting of the Housing Advisory Council. The Council is tasked with developing a five-year strategic statewide housing plan. 

Established through Executive Order filed in conjunction with the Affordable Homes Act, the Housing Advisory Council will develop a comprehensive housing plan for Massachusetts. The plan will include strategies for substantially increasing housing production, preserving and upgrading existing housing stock, supporting individuals and families struggling with homelessness, and using housing to create economic mobility for all. 


2024 Statewide Housing Plan Listening Sessions

The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities along with members of the Housing Advisory Council held multiple listening sessions around the Commonwealth in 2024 to hear more from our local communities and to provide input for the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s first five-year strategic statewide housing plan.

Unlocking Housing Production Commission

Governor Healey swears in the Commission on Unlocking Housing Production

January 29, 2024 - Governor Healey swears in the Commission on Unlocking Housing Production. 

Established through Executive Order filed in conjunction with the Affordable Homes Act, the Commission on Unlocking Housing Production is charged with advising the administration on how state and local laws, regulations, and practices could be revised in order to increase the supply of affordable housing across income levels and the state.

Extremely Low-Income Commission

The Affordable Homes Act created a commission to recommend policy, programs, and other investments to expand the supply of housing that is affordable to households earning not more than 30% AMI.

Senior Housing Commission

The Affordable Homes Act created a commission to recommend policy, programs, and other investments to expand the supply of housing for seniors and older adults.

The Affordable Homes Act created a commission to study accessibility in housing for persons with disabilities and seniors.
