Jewish War Veterans (JWV)

For over 125 years, Jewish War Veterans have honorably served their country, the veteran community, & the Jewish community with posts across the country regularly participating in community events & programs.

The Jewish War Veterans (JWV) is the premier voice for Jewish uniformed service members & veterans in the United States. The JWV affirms that Jewish men & women serve honorably & heroically in the military forces of the United States of America during peacetime & war.

Who is eligible to join

Below are different types of JWV memberships available:

In-Service Membership

  • If you are Jewish & serving in the US Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Active Guard Reserve) your membership with the JWV is FREE while you are on active duty AND for the first year upon exiting from military service. 

Active Member

  • One must have been an honorably discharged American Jewish veteran who has served in the US Armed Forces during a US War or conflict.

Associate Member

  • Those who served side-by-side with American GI’s under the flag of an ally in the fight against our adversaries.
  • Those who served on an allied force during a war or conflict, received an honorable discharge, & later became a US citizen.
  • A Jewish veteran who was honorably discharged from the US Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserves, after active duty service NOT during a war or conflict.

Patron

  • Are family of members, local community leaders, & veterans of other faiths.
  • While Patrons are not members of JWV, they are welcome to engage with their local Post & support JWV programs.
  • Patrons are not eligible to hold elected JWV office or serve as a delegate, but are encouraged to invest annually in the same dues amount as JWV members.

The JWV Department of Massachusetts is organized local chapters across the Commonwealth, each with their own elected leadership.
