The requirements for public insurance adjusters are governed by M.G.L. c. 175 § 172. To become a corporate insurance adjuster in the Commonwealth, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- All business entities must complete name approval and registration with the Massachusetts Secretary of State as outlined on Licensing Requirements: General Requirements for All Business Entity Types | Mass.gov .
- No insurance license issued to the applicant has ever been revoked or suspended.
- The business entity must have a member listed on the license that holds an active Public Adjuster license in Massachusetts.
- A written contract describing adjusting services. ( Public Insurance Adjuster Model Contracts ), uploaded to the NIPR Attachments Warehouse.
- A complete and accurate Public Insurance Adjuster License Application online through NIPR.com with a licensing fee of $66.66 per member. Please note the fee is non-refundable.
