Local Board of Health Team Lead

Overview

The Team Lead will support a specific Massachusetts community or project by managing a team of 5-20 assigned volunteers completing a variety of work based on the community's specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with LBOH or project contact to determine scope of work and team needs
    • Provide insight into capabilities of the APHVC and provide expertise as needed
  • Document team’s work weekly and provide intermittent updates to the Field Operations Manager on project status
  • Hold weekly team meetings to coordinate ongoing project work and check-in with volunteers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Availability 10-15 hours per week
  • Affiliation with one of the APHVCs partner institutions

    • Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
    • Northeastern University

  • Experience managing teams and projects
  • Responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable with a rapid pace
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • A fast and flexible learner
  • A commitment to advancing health equity and social justice
  • Knowledgeable in public health
  • Highly independent and proactive worker
  • A team player, excited to support local public health in Massachusetts
