What is happening?

As of August 28, 2025, two travel lanes have been restored on Route 1A northbound at the General Edwards Drawbridge between Revere and Lynn. This adjustment has been made by MassDOT to help minimize traffic impacts during the weekday afternoon peak commute.

Necessary structural repair work will continue, requiring temporary left lane closures on Route 1A northbound and southbound during off-peak hours.

Travel impacts and work schedule

  • Temporary left lane closures on Route 1A northbound and southbound are anticipated during off-peak hours to support ongoing repair work. Route 1A northbound is now operating with two travel lanes restored during peak commute times.
  • Work is scheduled to take place during off-peak traffic hours.
