Overview

The Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game—along with its Divisions of Marine Fisheries and Fisheries and Wildlife—commits to making MassFishHunt accessible for all customers, including people with disabilities. We have worked with a contractor to assess the accessibility of MassFishHunt. We are working towards making the site as accessible as possible.

Known accessibility issues

Some components of the site cannot be modified easily. We currently have tickets open to fix the following issues:

  • Some sections are missing proper page structure, which may be confusing for people using assistive technology
  • Information is lost when the site is zoomed to 400%, which may make text difficult to read
  • Low color contrast may make some text difficult to read
  • Inconsistent focus order and visibility may make it difficult for people who use keyboards to see their location on the page
  • Words in a different language are not labeled as such, which may confuse people using screen readers
  • Some buttons and dialogs are not built or labeled correctly, making the nature of the content unclear to people using assistive technologies
