Megan joined MassDOT in 2023 as an Archaeologist in the Cultural Resources Unit (CRU). In her work with MassDOT, she primarily reviews Highway Division projects for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, in addition to other state and federal historic preservation and environmental laws and regulations. This involves helping avoid, minimize, and mitigate impacts to historic properties and archaeological sites.
Prior to working at MassDOT, Megan worked as a Project Archaeologist in Maryland and Virginia. She received her doctoral degree in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and History from Muhlenberg College.
Megan especially enjoys learning about cultural resources across the Commonwealth, and working with MassDOT provides a unique opportunity to help protect them for future generations.
In her free time, Megan enjoys hiking, gardening, baking, and spending time with her family.
