The Board of Certification of Community Health Workers helps integrate community health workers into healthcare and public health systems. While promoting equity, cost containment, quality improvement, and management and prevention of chronic disease, the board works to establish standards for education and training. These standards are upheld in the training of community health workers and community health worker trainers. The board regulates requirements for community health worker certification and renewal to ensure quality support and outreach to the public.
