Join a BHPL board

As a board or commission member, you will have the opportunity to be involved in your local government, directly impact policy decisions, engage in advocacy work, build leadership skills, and expand your professional network.

Typically, boards meet monthly and may run 2 - 8 hours depending on the size of the board and the length of the board meeting agenda. Board members should expect to commit an additional 6 - 8 hours outside of each meeting to review necessary agenda items provided in the board packet in preparation for evaluation and discussion on the meeting day.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ dedication to cultural inclusion is strengthened by prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion for both our employees and our citizens. BHPL values diverse experiences and outlooks as we continue to shape and foster effective and impactful public service that represents all the communities we serve. Your unique insights and expertise are essential for achieving our mission.
