Michael joined MassDOT in June 2022 as an Environmental Engineering summer intern with the District 1-Lenox Design team. He then served as an Environmental co-op with the Wetlands Unit through May 2023. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at Ramapo College of New Jersey, Michael joined MassDOT full-time as an Environmental Analyst in September 2023, and quickly adjusted to life moving from the Garden State to the Greater Boston area.
Working within the Wetlands Unit, Michael serves as an Environmental permit reviewer for MassDOT bridge projects. His role is to assist in reviewing project permit applications, ensuring that they meet regulatory requirements and minimize impacts to the environment. His favorite aspects of the role include examining the geomorphological characteristics of project sites, providing resources for wildlife, and ensuring safe transportation routes for public use.
During his free time, Michael enjoys playing sports such as softball, soccer, and martial arts. You can also find him travelling the world with family and friends, exploring new locations and experiencing unique cultures.
