Notice Inviting Comment on Proposed Amendment to Section 3.62 of the Rules of the Board of Bar Overseers

Comments may be submitted no later than September 21, 2026.

The Board of Bar Overseers (BBO) solicits comments on a proposed amendment to Section 3.62 of the Rules of the BBO, Procedure on Petitions for Reinstatement Generally.

Section 3.62 requires petitioners for reinstatement to file four paper copies of Part I of the reinstatement questionnaire with the BBO. Most petitioners file their papers electronically and there is no need for four hard copies of the same document. The amendment would apply even to those petitioners who file papers copies, because the BBO’s practice is to scan and save all papers files. The amendment would require only one copy of Part I to be filed, either on paper or electronically.

Comments should be directed to clerk@massbbo.org no later than September 21, 2026. Comments received will be made available to the public.
