An election notice to the members of the Lexington Retirement Board.

To Members and Retirees of the Lexington Retirement System:

Notice of Election

Election Date:  June 24, 2026
Location:  Town Hall, Retirement Office

Purpose

To elect a board member of the Lexington Contributory Retirement System in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 32, 840 CMR 7.00.  Term of Office is 07/01/2026 – 06/30/2029.

Board Member Requirements

Within 30 days of becoming a member and every two years thereafter, the training program on the Ethics Commission’s website must be completed and the individual must provide a certificate of completion issued upon successful completion of the training. During each member’s term on the retirement board, the member must complete 18 hours of PERAC approved training with a minimum of three hours/year. 

Board Members are also required to file Statements of Financial Interests to PERAC by May 1st of each year.  New Board Members must complete the Statement within 30 days of beginning service on a retirement board.  Contact the Retirement Office if you wish to view a copy of the document. 

Candidates/Nomination Papers

Any member or retiree of the Lexington Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Lexington Retirement Board Office a nomination paper or papers containing the signatures and addresses of at least twenty (20) members or retirees of the Lexington Contributory Retirement System. Nomination papers may be obtained at Lexington Town Hall, Lexington Retirement Office. The last day to submit nomination papers is May 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM

Absentee Ballots

Available to all members upon written request
Absentee ballots will be mailed to all retirees.

Place

Completed ballots can be mailed or dropped off in the Retirement Office, Lexington Town Hall no later than June 22, 2026 by 12:00 PM
