Purpose: 

To elect an active or retired member of the system to serve a three (3) year term on the West Springfield Retirement Board in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 32, 840 CMR 7000.

Term of Office:      

September 01, 2026 — August 31, 2029

Nomination Papers:

Any active or retired member of the West Springfield Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Board nomination paper(s) containing the signatures and addresses of at least twenty (20) active or retired members of the system. Inactive members will not qualify as a candidate but may vote if official election is to be held.

Nomination papers may be obtained from the office of the West Springfield Retirement Board, located on the third floor of the Municipal Office Building, 26 Central Street, West Springfield, MA.

Completed nomination papers must be submitted to the Retirement Office by Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 1 PM

Late submissions will not be accepted for any reason

Ballots: 

If the Retirement Board verifies that more than one (l) candidate has been nominated, the Board will immediately prepare an official election ballot. Ballots will be mailed to all current active, inactive and retired members.

Election Date: 

In the event of an election, ballots and voting instructions will be mailed to all eligible voters. Ballots will be counted at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in the Retirement Office.
