Notice of Election to Members and Retirees

The Woburn Retirement Board, in accordance with the provisions of MGL Chapter 32 and 840 CMR 7.00, will be conducting an election for one (1) Member Elected Board position scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2026.

The term of office will begin November 9, 2026, and will expire November 8, 2029.  Elected Members must file an Annual Statement of Financial Interest (SFI) with Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC) and must undertake 18 hours of educational training during the three-year term.  Elected member will receive a yearly stipend of $4,500.

Nomination papers must be filed with the Retirement Board no later than 6:00pm August 27, 2026.  Any active member in service or retiree of the Woburn Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Retirement Office, the nomination paper containing signatures of at least twenty (20) active members or retirees of the Woburn Retirement System.  Nomination papers will be available starting July 16, 2026 in-person at the Retirement Office, located at City Hall – 2nd Floor, 10 Common Street, during regular business hours, Monday – Wednesday 8:30am-4:30pm, and Thursday 8:30am – 7:00pm.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to all retirees on September 3, 2026.  The election will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 8:00am to 6:00pm at the Retirement Office, located at City Hall – 2nd Floor, 10 Common Street.
