Municipal IT Directors SharePoint Site

OMST has created a SharePoint site that is intended to serve as a resource and collaboration tool for use amongst municipal and school IT directors, and between OMST. This SharePoint site empowers IT and Tech Directors to interact with and learn from each other, share knowledge and ask questions, and obtain information from OMST – essentially becoming a repository of information. The TSS-Muni-IT-Directors site is a one-stop-shop for information and knowledge exchanges. If you are interested in joining this site, please email OMST@mass.gov

Regional IT Director Groups

Some municipalities have taken the initiative to create or join a Regional IT Director (RITD) group that welcomes IT Directors in their surrounding areas. Each group's lead is typically a CIO/IT Director from a leading city/town in a particular territory. An email distribution list is created and maintained, and networking sessions are ideally held on a regular basis, either virtually, in-person, or both. RITD groups are a great opportunity to ask questions, share information, discuss common challenges, and establish community. OMST strives to help grow their membership and connect IT Directors across the Commonwealth. A breakdown of the current RITD groups is listed below.

  • Berkshire County
  • Cape Cod & Islands (Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket counties)
  • Greater Boston (Middlesex, Norfolk, and Suffolk counties)
  • North Shore (Essex County)
  • South Shore (Bristol and Plymouth counties)
  • Western Region (Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties)
  • Cross-collaborative discussion with Berkshire County, Cape Cod, North Shore, Pioneer Valley Planning Commission IT (Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties), Pittsfield, Western RITD Group leaders, and Westfield.

If you are interested in joining an RITD group or creating your own for your territory or county, please email OMST@mass.gov.
