New England and Regional Energy Groups

New England Energy Vision: Massachusetts joined with the other New England states to reflect our regional coordination to develop a clean, affordable, and reliable 21st century electric grid.

New England States Committee on Electricity (NESCOE): not-for-profit group that represents the collective perspective of the six New England Governors in regional electricity matters and advances the New England states’ common interest in the provision of electricity to consumers at the lowest possible prices over the long-term, consistent with maintaining reliable service and environmental quality.

Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI): RGGI is the first mandatory market-based program in the United States to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. RGGI is a cooperative effort among the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia to cap and reduce CO₂ emissions from the power sector.  Visit DOER's RGGI page here. 

National Coordination

National Association of State Energy Offcies (NASEO): national non-profit association for the governor-designated energy officials from each of the US states and territories. Formed by the states in 1986, NASEO facilitates peer learning among state energy officials, serves as a resource for and about state energy offices, and advocates the interests of the state energy offices to Congress and federal agencies.
