The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is conducting a conceptual planning study of the Route 2 corridor between Fitchburg and Concord. The study consists of identifying existing and future conditions to develop concept level alternatives and proposing highway, safety, and multi-modal enhancements for Route 2. A final draft of the study is being reviewed and made accessible to be posted to the project website for a 30-day comment period.
Project details
The purpose of this project is to prepare a conceptual study that will identifying existing and future conditions to develop concept level alternatives and proposing highway, safety, and multi-modal enhancements along Route 2. The goals of this study are to improve traffic flow and safety for all users while minimizing impacts on the community and natural resources.
