The Statewide Research Partner provide strategic, analytic and research support to OGR, Shannon sites and Local Action Research Partners.

The Shannon CSI Grant Program incorporates the key elements of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Comprehensive Gang Model. Grant funding, oversight, and technical assistance support regional and multi-disciplinary approaches to combat gang violence through coordinated prevention and intervention, law enforcement, prosecution, and reintegration programs. The Statewide Research Partner (SRP) assists all funded Shannon CSI sites, Local Action Research Partners (LARPs), and OGR by providing strategic, analytic, and research support.

This program is made available through state funding.

Eligibility

Public and quasi-public entities or not-for-profit research entities in Massachusetts established to fulfill a primary public purpose may apply. Applicants must demonstrate prior experience with providing technical assistance, training, and assessments related to gang violence/intervention programming. Preference will be given to Statewide Research Partners with past experience in this role.

Shannon Community Safety Initiative and Local Acton Research Partner

Funding for youth programming is awarded through the Shannon Community Safety Initiative (CSI). Each Shannon program site receive support from a Local Action Research Partner (LARP), in addition to the Statewide Research Partner. 

All Shannon CSI funding is awarded through a competitive process overseen by OGR's Justice and Prevention Division. OGR's Research and Policy Analysis Division (RPAD) provides support to the Shannon CSI in the form of data collection and analysis.
