SNAP COLA
What is a COLA?
Every year, the federal government adjusts SNAP benefit amounts to take into account the cost of living. The change is called the cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA.
How does this impact my benefits?
Beginning in October most clients will see an increase to their SNAP benefits. This is because the COLA increased some of the deductions that are used in your SNAP calculation.
In addition, the Maximum benefit amount That a household can receive also increased. The new amounts are listed below. Please note that not all households receive the maximum benefit amount. The SNAP calculation is based primarily on income, allowable deductions, and household size.

How can I find if my benefits changed?
If your benefits have changed, you will see it in your monthly benefits. Check DTA Connect, or call the number on the back of your EBT Card for your current balance. If your benefits are increasing, you will also receive a text message, unless you have opted out.
How can I report a change in my situation?
Certain expenses, such as housing, childcare, or medical (for any household member who is age 60+ or disabled) can be deducted from your countable income for your DTA benefits. Telling DTA about these expenses may increase your monthly benefits. Visit our page on getting the most out of your SNAP to learn more.
