Get to know your SAVE Outreach Peers. SAVE is a peer to peer mobile outreach team specializing in suicide prevention, mental health, and other urgent needs in our veteran community across the state of Massachusetts.

Leadership

Lynette Gabrila, Deputy Chief Engagement Officer for Peer Support

Lynette Gabrila serves as the Deputy Chief Engagement Officer for Peer Support and Outreach, joining EOVS in 2024. Lynette is a proud Army veteran. Lynette served as the Wachusett District Director of Veteran Services, the Director of Veteran Services for the Town of Dracut, and for the City of Worcester. Her commitment to enhancing the lives of veterans is underscored by a comprehensive understanding of federal and state compliance, coupled with a strategic approach to organizational growth and community engagement.

Lynette earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Boston College. In addition to her professional role, Lynette is an active member of the state’s Veterans Equality Review Board and Women Veterans Advisory Council.  

Daniel Brennan, Administrative Operations Supervisor

Dan serves as the Administrative Operations Manager and oversees the SAVE team, joining the SAVE team in 2008. Dan was born and raised in Massachusetts and is the son of a Vietnam-era veteran. Dan studied at Westfield State College and the International Academy of Design Technology in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Nicole Darden, Field Operations Supervisor

Nicole serves as the Manager of Field Operations, joining the SAVE team in 2012. Nicole is a Springfield native. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Psychology degree and a self-designed minor in inequalities in public education focused on systemic barriers faced by individuals and how systems can engage them to encourage success. Nicole is the daughter of a veteran, the wife of a veteran, and US Army veteran herself. She has completed the coursework as an addiction counselor and is currently working towards licensure. She brings these skills to the team by providing services to those engaged in our program who can benefit from individual addiction support under the supervision of the SAVE Team Clinical Advisor. Nicole is a passionate advocate for veterans and likes to know that though her work she has been able to help those who have served live healthy, self-determined lives.

Outreach Peers

Christopher Doyle, Quality Assurance Supervisor

Christopher serves as the Quality Assurance Supervisor, joining the SAVE team in 2011. Christopher served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and is a disabled veteran. 

Ashley Eisnor

Ashley serves as an Outreach Coordinator, joining the SAVE team in 2013. Ashley dedicated a significant part of her early years to serving on the U.S.S Kearsarge LHD-3 from 2004 to 2008. Transitioning to civilian life, she pursued education at NSCC from 2009 to 2011 in 2013. Ashley joined SAVE to make a positive impact. Ashley has two siblings who proudly served as Marine veterans.

Uris Mendez

Uris serves as an Outreach Coordinator, joining the SAVE team in 2020. Uris works with veterans who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing. He embraces the diversity of his work, which can range from navigating clients with pending evictions through Housing Court to seeking long-term care placement for elderly veterans to helping veterans with less-than-honorable discharges or criminal backgrounds access benefits or public housing. As someone who experienced homelessness, he can relate to veterans’ struggles to find affordable housing in the Boston area. 

Nicolette Slezak

Nicole serves as an Outreach Coordinator, joining the SAVE team in 2020. Nicole earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Springfield College in 2006 and has worked in the clinical field for many years.

Steven Burton

Steven served as an Outreach Coordinator joining the SAVE team in 2022. Steven is a native of Massachusetts, growing up mostly in Fall River and Swansea. Steven has worked in the in the medical and human service fields for over 35 years, I have had experiences serving as a CNA, EMT, Residential Manager, and in state service. Steven is married with 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

Michele Suhocki

Michele serves as an Outreach Coordinator, joining the SAVE team in 2022. Michele received her Bachelor's degree in Abnormal Psychology from Rutgers, received certification as a Peer Specialist from Kiva Academy in Worcester, and currently completing a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Westfield State University. Prior to joining the SAVE team, Michele served as a Recreational Therapist at the Holyoke Soldiers Home on the Dementia/Alzheimer unit. Michele is the daughter of a Marine Corp Veteran and is the mother of a future Army Officer.
